LINDA CELESTIAN
BIO
Linda Celestian grew up in upstate NY and spent her summers living on her family boat traversing the Finger Lakes. This was the beginning of her love of being outside and her kinship with nature.
She received a BFA from Moore College Of Art and Design in Philadelphia and completed a year of Graduate Studies in Fine Art.
She has studied Public Art at Penland School of Crafts, completed a training course in mural painting through the Creative District in Wilmington, DE and a 2-week course at Corning Museum of Glass in sand blasting and fused glass.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Her work alludes to patterns that are found both in nature and the human body. She continually explores ways to use natural markings and natural occurrences such as rust and poured paint to express the undeniable connection between man and nature.
